Specifications Chrismal sets with leather case for the holy oils * Glass bottle * Nickel-plated brass cover. Measurements: Height 11 centimeters Diameter 6 centimeters Case Measurements: Height 15 centimeters Width 8 centimeters Length 23 centimeters Chrismals are the vessels in which the holy oils are kept: the oil of catechumens, the oil of the sick, and the Holy Chrism. They can come in two forms: large ones for storing the oil in churches and small ones for administering the sacraments outside of them. After the Chrism Mass, the parish priest receives the oils and is obliged to store them diligently in a dignified place (Code of Canon Law, c. 847). It is customary to keep them in a noble cabinet or urn placed in the baptistery or sacristy. There, it is appropriate to place them in large and artistic chrismals, for use in the administration of the sacraments within the church. But there are also tubular chrismals divided into three sections that are practical for administering sacraments outside the church.
