The Santo Niño de Atocha (Holy Child of Atocha) is a Child Jesus found in the arms of the Virgin Mary. The story tells that Muslims had imprisoned Christians and did not allow visits from family or friends, only from small children. It was thus that "the Child Jesus himself" decided to keep them company in their tribulation, comforting them and giving them food.
